The Lutheran Hour Ministries Foundation Seeks Nominations for Trustee
The Lutheran Hour Ministries Foundation is accepting nominations now for its Board of Trustees. Nominations for a three-year term are due no later than Feb. 15, 2010.
Nominees need to be a member in good standing of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod or Lutheran Church—Canada, have a history with the International Lutheran Laymen's League (including financial support), and be willing and able to attend several Foundation meetings throughout the year. Once a person is nominated, the LHM Foundation's Nominations Committee Chair (Don Brosz) will get in touch with that person to confirm his or her willingness to serve. Don will also send the nominee a position description at that time.
The election of trustees will be held during the LHM Foundation's Annual Meeting next July at the International Convention of the International Lutheran Laymen's League in Omaha, Nebraska.
The Lutheran Hour Ministries Foundation was created in 2000 to build a strong financial base for furthering Lutheran Hour Ministries' mission of Bringing Christ to the Nations—and the Nations to the Church. The Foundation gives donors an enhanced way to provide support to the ministry through irrevocable agreements. Having its own foundation allows LHM to ensure that more of the donor's gifts are available for the ministry. The LHM Foundation administers endowment funds, which currently provide around $300,000 in annual distributions for the ministry.
To submit the name of a potential candidate, please complete a nominations form, which can be downloaded from the LHM Gift Web site. The completed form must be returned to Don Brosz via the e-mail or mailing addresses listed on the form by Feb. 15, 2010.
